A man and a woman were killed inside a Paulding County home Saturday in what appears to be a murder-suicide, authorities said.

Christopher Woods, 28, and Kattie Marie Perez-Brown, 31, were found dead of gunshot wounds inside a home on Holland Court in Dallas, Paulding County sheriff’s spokesman Sgt. Ashley Henson said.

Officials said Woods is believed to be Perez-Brown’s ex-boyfriend. The gunshot wound that killed him was self-inflicted, Henson said.

Sheriff’s deputies were called to the home in the Twelve Oaks subdivision around 8 p.m. to investigate a domestic dispute. A man called 911 and said he was inside the home visiting a woman when another man came in and pointed a gun at him, Henson said.

The man told officials he left the home. A short time later, he heard several gunshots inside, officials said.

When deputies arrived at the scene, they weren’t able to get into the home and called a SWAT team. The SWAT team deployed a robot and found Woods and Perez-Brown dead in the house.

The incident is under investigation.

A GoFundMe page was set up to help with expenses. It had raised more than $3,200 as of Tuesday afternoon.
