Man, woman found dead at separate scenes in Norcross-area subdivision

The first body, a man’s, was found lying between two homes.

The second, a woman’s, was found 90 minutes later and 200 yards away, in a car in the subdivision’s pool parking lot.

For now, Gwinnett County police are calling it a double homicide — but little else is known.

“Both victims appear to be the victim of gunshot wounds,” Cpl. Deon Washington said early Monday afternoon. “At this point we’re trying to establish what the relationship is between [the pool] scene and the home down the street.”

Washington said police were initially called to the 6000 block of Wandering Way, a residential street just off Jimmy Carter Boulevard near Norcross, around 9:25 a.m. when surveyors working the neighborhood discovered the man’s body. Detectives responding to an unrelated theft call found the woman’s body around 11 a.m.

The victims have not yet been identified. Their relationship to each other, and to the subdivision, is unclear.
