A man wanted in connection with a recent Henry County slaying was apprehended Friday night in Alabama, authorities said.

Tory Leroy Jones, 44, was taken into custody in the Huntsville area by officials from the Henry County Sheriff’s Office and U.S. Marshals, Henry County police spokesman Capt. Joey Smith said Saturday.

Jones, who was considered armed and dangerous, allegedly killed Elimisha Maryetta Gates, 40, of Atlanta, on Tuesday in her hotel room, Smith said earlier. Jones and the victim had a relationship.

Details of Jones’ apprehension or the death have not been released.

Henry County police detectives are in Huntsville to continue with the investigation, Smith said.
