A man suspected of murder in Fulton County was arrested in Clayton County after a routine traffic stop, officials said.

Corey Reese was arrested after a Clayton deputy who pulled him over discovered he was wanted on four counts of murder in Fulton County, the sheriff's office said in a statement Sunday.

The deputy said Reese pulled out suddenly in front of his patrol car, “causing the deputy to have to slam in his brakes,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement.

The deputy pulled Reese over, searched his vehicle and found clear plastic bags, a scale and a handgun, the sheriff’s office said.

A check also connected Reese to the murder charges in Fulton, the sheriff’s office said. The details of that incident are not clear.

Reese was arrested and taken to the Clayton County jail.
