A man was arrested after he allegedly tried to lure a 16-year-old girl away from a Smyrna grocery store for sex, officials said.

Brandon Sims, 38, of Smyrna, was arrested Saturday, according to jail records.

Police said he followed the teenager around the Food Depot on South Cobb Drive on Friday, Channel 2 Action News reported. He flirted with her, and his comments became aggressive, the news station reported.

According to police, as he spoke with the teen, Sims said, “I got something for you,” and “we can do things.” Those comments were intended to entice the teen into sex, Channel 2 reported.

The girl managed to get away and call police, Channel 2 reported.

Sims was booked into the Cobb County Adult Detention Center, where he remains with no bond. He is charged with felony enticing a child and misdemeanor public intoxication.
