Atlanta police are seeking a Riverdale man who they say called in multiple bomb threats, including one at a MARTA station.

Marlon Malbory, 25, allegedly made at least five 911 calls, said he was calling on behalf of al-Qaida and indicated a lot of people were about to die, Channel 2 Action News reported.

According to police, Malbory said there was a bomb in a black bag at the West End MARTA station, the television station reported. At the same time, he allegedly called in an armed burglary at a furniture store near that station.

“Police officers are rushing to these locations in a manner to save lives, and when you move those resources to a situation that’s not a legitimate situation, then we’re not responding to critical calls we need to respond to,” Atlanta police Sgt. Warren Pickard said.

Malbory is 6-foot-1 and 160 pounds, according to information distributed by police.

“MARTA Police Department and APD are working jointly to apprehend the suspect,” the transit agency said in a statement. “We encourage our customers to use our See and Say app, if they observe any suspicious activity.”
