A man thought he would be spending time at home with two female visitors he met online.

However, the night took a wrong turn when an uninvited guest arrived at his southwest Atlanta residence and shot him, according to police.

Officers were sent to the home in the 1400 block of Sherrie Lane about 2:20 a.m. Wednesday, according to Atlanta police spokeswoman Officer TaSheena Brown.

When they arrived, they found the 37-year-old victim with a gunshot wound to the leg.

The victim told officers he was inside his home with the two women when a man came in and shot him, Brown said.

Investigators believe it was the result of an attempted robbery. It’s not clear if anything was stolen.

The man was taken to a hospital, where he is stable. The incident is still under investigation.
