Atlanta police were looking for a getaway car early Wednesday in the death of a man who was shot at least once in his home near the Ponce City Market.
Police told Channel 2 Action News that a man, identified by the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s office as Seine Jackson, 46, of Atlanta, was found in the Glen Iris Drive home about 2 a.m.
Witnesses in the home, which was divided into apartments, told police they heard an argument before shots were fired and saw a car speed away from the scene.
“We don’t believe this was random act,” Atlanta police homicide commander Lt. Charles Hampton told Channel 2. “The victim was the intended target.”
Police are looking for a car believed to be a burgundy Pontiac Grand Prix.
The victim’s residence is near a rapidly redeveloping area that includes the Ponce City Market, Historic Fourth Ward and a section of the Beltline heavily used by pedestrians and bicyclists.
