One person was killed and another wounded in a Saturday morning shooting at a home near Buford, police said.

Gwinnett County police Sgt. Brian Doan said officers responded to the 4600 block of Vintage Lane just before 3 a.m., finding a man dead from “apparent gunshot wounds” and a 45-year-old woman shot in the arm. The woman’s wounds were considered non-life threatening.

“Detectives have learned that there were several people in the residence when an altercation occurred and several shots were fired,” Doan said in an email.

The male victim was identified Saturday evening as 31-year-old Buford residnet Timothy Thornton. No further information was immediately available.
