Man killed in weekend shooting in NW Atlanta identified

The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s office Monday identified a man shot and killed over the weekend in northwest Atlanta as Anthony Johnson, 34, of Atlanta.

Atlanta police said Johnson was shot in the leg shortly before 9 p.m. Saturday in the 1600 block of Ezra Church Road.

Johnson was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he died just before 1 a.m. Sunday.

Police have not released a motive for the shooting or said if detectives have identified a suspect.
