A man was found dead in the middle of the street Thursday morning in a southwest Atlanta neighborhood.

He had been shot multiple times and was found by Atlanta police officers in the 1100 block of Graymont Drive. The officers were called about 1 a.m. after neighbors reported hearing several shots.

The neighbors also reported seeing a blue BMW with three occupants speed away after the gunfire, police spokesman Officer Steve Avery said.

“Detectives believe the victim met the suspects at the location to conduct some type of transaction which resulted in the shooting,” he said in a statement.

The victim’s name is not being released until his family has been notified.

Investigators are still working to identify and locate the suspects. Anyone with information is asked to contact the police department’s homicide unit.

Tipsters can remain anonymous, and be eligible for rewards of up to $2,000, by contacting Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-8477, texting information to 274637 or visiting the Crime Stoppers website.
