A 32-year-old Atlanta man was fatally shot and a woman was injured in a shooting early Saturday, police said.

About 3 a.m., police responded to the 400 block of Edgewood Avenue, where they found the two people, spokeswoman Kim Jones said.

Both victims were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where the man died while receiving treatment, Jones said. The woman was listed as stable.

The man was identified as Mitchell Mormon Jr. of Atlanta, according to the Fulton County Medical Examiner's office.

Witnesses were interviewed, and the investigation continues, Jones said.
