A man was killed Tuesday in a three-vehicle wreck that occurred around lunchtime in Douglas County, authorities said.

Two vehicles were making a left turn from the I-20 East exit ramp onto Thornton Road about noon, the Georgia State Patrol told AJC.com. Both vehicles had a green light, but a third vehicle allegedly ran a red light.

That vehicle slammed into the driver’s side door of one of the other vehicles, causing all three to collide, police said. The makes and models of the vehicles were not provided.

The man driving the vehicle that was T-boned and the driver who hit him were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, GSP said. The man whose car was hit later died from his injuries.

The names of those involved have not been released, and it’s unclear whether charges will be filed.

An investigation is ongoing.
