A Gainesville man is accused of kicking one Hall County sheriff’s deputy and threatening to kill another, according to the sheriff’s office.

Larry Jewell Burrell, 54, was arrested Thursday on charges of making terroristic threats and two counts of felony obstruction.

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies were called to a residence in the 2400 block of Broadway Place and found Burrell intentionally broke a window and repeatedly kicked a door at the home.

“Burrell had been in public using loud and profane language and he acted in a violent manner toward one of the victims in this case prior to law enforcement’s arrival,” Lt. Scott Ware said.

They ordered Burrell to surrender, but he disobeyed them, resisted arrest and kicked one of the deputies twice in the chest, Ware said.

Burrell also threatened to “hunt down and kill” the other deputy and his “entire family,” Ware said.

Burrell is being held at the Hall County jail.

He also faces charges of public drunkenness, criminal trespassing, two counts of disorderly conduct and two counts of misdemeanor obstruction, authorities said.
