A man was indicted last week after being charged in a July 2018 road-rage attack in Spalding County that left a father of three in intensive care, authorities confirmed.
Christopher Michael Futch was indicted July 9 on one count of aggravated assault, two counts of aggravated battery and one count of battery, the Spalding County District Attorney’s Office told AJC.com.
The incident occurred after Futch nearly ran Travis Abbott, his wife Cora and their three kids off U.S. 41, the sheriff’s office previously said.

When Abbott eventually caught up to Futch, he responded by saying, “Man, what are you doing? I’ve got my kids in the car,” the sheriff’s office said.
Futch allegedly proceeded to follow the family for several miles and demanded they pull over. The two eventually met in the parking lot of an auto parts store, where Futch and Abbott eventually fought, the sheriff’s office said.
Cora told Channel 2 Action News shortly after the incident that Futch pulled out a steel reinforcing bar and hit her husband in the head.
