A 30-year-old man was sentenced to 30 years in federal prison after about 400 pounds of crystal and liquid methamphetamine were found on his property in metro Atlanta.

Drug agents also found about $12,000 cash and guns at the Coweta County residence of Ramiro Hermosillo-Salazar in June, officials said.

He pleaded guilty in October to several drug and firearms charges, U.S. Attorney Byung J. “BJay” Pak said in a news release.

Hermosillo-Salazar’s three children, ages 9, 8 and 5, lived at the Palmetto residence with him, officials said.

“Methamphetamine is the most trafficked illegal drug in Georgia, and it has devastated the lives of many of our fellow citizens,” Pak said. “Hermosillo produced hundreds of pounds of the drug in a ‘superlab’ in his home where his young children resided. Thanks to the efforts of the DEA and local law enforcement partners, this cache of drugs is off our streets.”

During the raid, agents discovered the “superlab” in a separate building on the property, according to the release. The lab contained about 300 pounds of highly pure crystal meth, as well as several gallons of liquid meth that, if converted to its crystal form, would have yielded an additional 100 pounds of the drug.

Agents also found a meth lab near the kitchen as well as more crystal meth.

After his prison term, Hermosillo-Salazar will have five years of supervised release, and he was ordered to pay restitution to the government for the cost of dismantling the superlab, according to the release.

A citizen of Mexico, he will be deported after his term ends.
