A metro Atlanta man is headed to federal prison for 10 years after he downloaded and viewed “unconscionable” pornographic images of children, including infants, the FBI said.
A jury found Lloyd Christopher Young, 32, of Fayetteville, guilty of receipt and possession of child pornography in November, U.S. Attorney BJay Pak said in a news release.
“The defendant downloaded and viewed disgusting videos and pictures of young children being sexually abused,” Pak said. “His conduct helped further the sexual exploitation of children and cause irreparable harm to these young victims, all for his personal pleasure.”
In 2015, federal investigators learned Young was accessing an underground child porn website, and they searched his home. They seized Young’s computer and thumb drive, which had more than 950 videos and images of child porn, Pak said.
Most of the children in the images were 5 to 12 years old, officials said.
Young told investigators he specifically searched for and downloaded child porn, Pak said.
After his prison term ends, Young will be on supervised release for the rest of his life, according to the release. He also must register as a sex offender.
