A man was found shot to death overnight, near a daycare on Six Flags Parkway in Cobb County.

Cobb County police spokesman Sgt. Dana Pierce said a woman called 911 about 2:33 a.m. reporting a car wrecked near a Marathon gas station and the West Place apartment complex. The woman told 911 a man had been shot and there were two kids in the car, Pierce said.

The man was alive two minutes later, when officers arrived, Pierce said, but he later died, according to Channel 2 Action News.

“The status of the victim or the ‘kids’ is not being given out,” Pierce said in a news statement.

The body was in an SUV in a wooded area, where police spent hours Sunday morning gathering evidence, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Police don’t yet have a motive or a name for the man who was apparently shot in the head.
