Gwinnett County police were investigating an overnight shooting that left a 43-year-old man dead.
About 9:23 p.m. Sunday, police were called to a shooting outside building No. 13 of the Indian Trail Apartment Homes, which is in the 1100 block of Indian Trail Lilburn Road in unincorporated Gwinnett County.
Gwinnett police Sgt. Brian Doan told Channel 2 Action News Vernie Burroughs’ body was found in the parking lot in front of the building, where police believe he lived.
Doan said police don’t know how many times Burroughs was shot, but they received 911 calls reporting that six shots had been fired.
Police asked anyone with information to call the agency’s criminal investigation division at 770-513-5300.
