A Cobb County man died Thursday when investigators believe he crossed the center line and hit a school bus, police said.

Kerry M. Kalafut, 63, who lived in Kennesaw, was driving a 2011 Scion xB northbound on Kennesaw Due West Road when he crossed the double yellow line and hit the front left corner of the bus shortly after 8 a.m., Sgt. Dana Pierce said. Kalafut was taken by ambulance to WellStar Kennestone Hospital, where he later died, Pierce said.

The school bus monitor, who was a passenger on the bus, and two juveniles were also taken by ambulance to Kennestone, but their injuries were not life-threatening, according to police.

The bus driver, 50-year-old Christopher Ellis of Acworth, and two other passengers on the bus were not injured.

Anyone with information on the crash is asked to contact Cobb police at 770-499-3987.
