Police are investigating the shooting of a Stone Mountain man Friday morning at his home.

The victim was in critical condition at an area hospital.

Initial reports indicate two men approached the victim’s home on Hairston Crossing about 11:30 a.m. One of the men fired a gun when the resident opened the door, DeKalb police spokeswoman Mekka Parish said.

The men then fled the scene, she said.

“Police believe attempted robbery was the motive,” Parish said.
