Man charged in fatal shooting on Hill Street

Atlanta police early Thursday made an arrest in connection with Wednesday morning's shooting of a man found dead outside a home on Hill Street.

The victim was found lying in the driveway of the home in the 1200 block of Hill Street in southwest Atlanta shortly before 9:30 a.m.

Atlanta police spokesman Sgt. Warren Pickard said the man, who appeared to be in his 40s, was shot in the head.

Anthony Charles Thompson was arrested and booked into the Fulton County Jail early Thursday, charged with murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Investigators have not released the victim’s name or a motive for the shooting.
