A Pickens County man was the focus of a GBI and sheriff’s office child molestation and pornography sting Saturday, leading to his arrest.

Jeremey Errol Mansion, 30, of Tate, faces six felonies following the bust, according to the GBI and the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office.

The two law enforcement agencies, with the assistance of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, executed a search warrant at his house off Camp Road in Jasper, the GBI said in a news release. The warrant stemmed from a joint investigation into online sexual exploitation of children.

Mansion was arrested on counts of child molestation, creating and distributing child pornography, possession of child pornography, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and possession of a controlled substance, the release said.

In a Facebook post, Sheriff Donnie Craig said, “I am extremely proud of our partnership with our state and federal law enforcement agencies. Because of these partnerships, even in these difficult times, we were able to get a very bad guy off the street.”

The GBI said no other information will be released at this time.

As of Monday afternoon, Mansion was being held without bond.
