Bibb County deputies didn’t have to work too hard to make an arrest after a Tuesday morning robbery.

“He was so stupid, he left his wallet and identification,” a departing customer told the Macon Telegraph.

Willie Frank Hall of Macon visited Flowers Discount Bakery just after 10 a.m. and approached the cash register, Bibb County Sheriff David Davis said in a news release. The 49-year-old then took out his wallet to purchase items he placed on the counter.

“When the cashier opened the cash register, the suspect grabbed an undisclosed amount of money out of the cash register,” Davis said.

Hall ran out of the store, leaving his wallet on the floor as it fell out of his pocket.

Not long after a lookout was placed for Hall, he turned himself in to a deputy in the fourth district, Davis said.

Hall was booked into the Bibb Law Enforcement Center.
