A man faces aggravated assault charges in Newton County after he allegedly stabbed his wife, dropped her near Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta and took their three children to DeKalb County.

Leroy Coleman, 37, stabbed the woman at their apartment, then drove her and the three children to Atlanta, the Newton sheriff’s office told Channel 2 Action News. After leaving his wife near Grady, authorities said Coleman kept the children and continued to DeKalb.

A Levi’s Call was issued about 1 a.m. Friday for the children, who are between 4 and 12 years old.

Thirty minutes after the Levi’s Call was triggered, Coleman called 911 and wanted to surrender, Channel 2 reported.

DeKalb police found him and the children unharmed in the parking lot of the Covington Square shopping center, officials told television station.

Three children are safe with family members are a Levi's Call.

The children were turned over to their grandfather, according to Channel 2. Coleman was ultimately booked in Newton.

His wife was in fair condition at Grady.
