Man allegedly entered theater with gun, ammunition

Householder approached Gossett, who told him he was going to see the movie "The Purge: Election Year."

Gossett gave police permission to search his bag, which held the ammunition and a stolen gun believed to be from Ohio, Kramer said.

"I would like to thank our police department and the officers involved in the recent arrest at the movie theater," Kramer said in a Facebook post. "I also would like to emphasize the professional conduct and judgment by the officers, in particular, the officer who identified the situation and initially engaged the suspect."

Gossett was arrested on charges of receiving stolen property and carrying a firearm without a license, Kramer said. He has a hearing scheduled for next week. Milligan’s son was there with 10 other kids.

Jenifer Hall Milligan, 42, said her 9-year-old son was at the theatre for a birthday party to see “Ice Age,” but didn’t find out about the incident until Monday.

“Obviously, all the things that could’ve and would’ve happened went through my mind,” she said.

Milligan said she hadn’t told her son about the incident since he’s going to another event downtown and doesn’t want to scare him.

Milligan said she and her husband plan on thanking Householder in person.

“I wanted to thank him for preventing what could happen,” she said. “You usually hear about all the bad stuff.”

Center Township police are working with federal and Pennsylvania state officials to determine Gossett’s motive, Kramer said in the Facebook post.

He would not comment on any security measures taken following the incident.
