The man who Brookhaven police say shot at an officer during a robbery investigation has turned himself in, authorities said.

Brandon Joseph Barabino, 34, is being held in the DeKalb County Jail and faces an aggravated assault charge, police spokesman Maj. Brandon Gurley said Friday.

Barabino’s shot narrowly missed the officer’s head after entering through the rear driver’s side window of the cruiser, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution previously reported. The officer and Barabino were conversing late Tuesday while in their cars after a robbery at a nearby business.

After shooting at the officer, Barabino drove away and eventually crashed his car in unincorporated DeKalb County, police said.
