Man accused of MARTA bus shooting during argument turns himself in

A man turned himself in Monday for allegedly shooting someone on a MARTA bus near the Hamilton E. Holmes station, police confirmed.

Garland Wilson, 25, of Atlanta, is accused of shooting a man after a heated argument while riding the bus July 26, MARTA police said in a news release. The man, who had non-life-threatening injuries, was taken to an area hospital and released.

Police recovered a handgun at the scene, the release said. Wilson remains the only suspect in the shooting.

He faces charges of aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, according to Fulton County Jail records. He was denied bond, jail records show.
