Authorities have arrested a North Georgia man after tying him to a hit-and-run that killed an 18-year-old pedestrian in Woodstock on Monday morning.

Tracy Lee Wilson, 47, of Ellijay, was arrested on a felony hit-and-run charge in connection with the death of Sarahfina Okole, Woodstock police said in a news release.

About 6:50 a.m., officers responded to a report of a hit-and-run on Alabama Road at Sharon Way, the release said. Okole was found at the scene and taken to a hospital, where she later died.

Officers, with the assistance of the Cherokee County Multi-Agency Crash Investigation Unit, tracked Wilson to a local business, where he was taken into custody, the release said. The name of the business where he was arrested was not provided.

He was booked into the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center, where he remained Monday night on a $8,450 bond, the release said.

More charges are possible, police said. The investigation is ongoing.
