A man is accused of shooting and killing a resident at a Cobb County mobile home park that has recently been plagued by break-ins and burglaries, according to police.

Eduardo Nava Mora faces murder and aggravated assault charges after allegedly shooting Jose Arriaga, 43, in the torso, killing him last month, according to an arrest warrant obtained by AJC.com. He was arrested Sunday, Channel 2 Action News reported.

He’s accused of shooting Arriaga about midnight on April 27 at the Village at Six Flags trailer park in unincorporated Austell, the warrant said. Investigators have not released details about what led to the shooting.

In the last month, Cobb police have investigated at least 16 home and auto burglaries in the neighborhood. Police linked five of them to resident Laquinta Qualls, 31, who allegedly used a crowbar to enter several homes, AJC.com previously reported.

RHP Properties, the management company for the mobile home park, said in a statement that representatives met with police and held a community meeting this month. They also said they’re looking to hire a nightly security guard to patrol the neighborhood.

Both Nava Mora and Qualls remain in the Cobb jail without bond, records show.
