A Lithia Springs man arrested in South Carolina in connection with a deadly shooting at a southeast Georgia hotel is back in the state, according to police.

Tai-ri Crocker, 33, is being held at the Bulloch County Jail awaiting further court action, Statesboro police spokeswoman Madison Warren said.

He is accused of killing Jeffrey Raymond at the Baymont Inn and Suites in the 4200 block of South Main Street in Statesboro.

Officers were called to the scene about 6 a.m. Friday, Warren said.

When they arrived, they found Raymond, 34, of Statesboro, with multiple gunshot wounds.

He was taken to East Georgia Regional Medical Center, where he later died of his injuries, Warren said.
Investigators identified Crocker as the primary suspect in Raymond's death Friday night.

Officers launched a search, warning the public he was considered “armed and dangerous.”

Shortly after, Crocker was apprehended in South Carolina, police said.

Statesboro is more than 200 miles southeast of Atlanta.
