The driver of a Lamborghini killed in a fiery crash was identified as a 35-year-old Lithonia man, DeKalb County police said Monday.

Joseph Kennedy was killed Friday on Browns Mill Road after he struck two other vehicles, crashed into the treeline and flipped over in his luxury sports car, according to the DeKalb fire department. The Lamborghini ignited and Kennedy was killed.

Three people in the other vehicles had minor injuries in the crash. Mike Franklin said the white Lamborghini was trying to overtake him when it collided with another vehicle head-on.

“It happened so fast,” Franklin told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Franklin’s vehicle was also hit.

Investigators believe excessive speed was a factor in the crash, police said Monday.
