LaGrange police are searching for two men who robbed a taxi driver at gunpoint after hailing a ride early Thursday morning.

Officers responded to the 300 block of East Bacon Street about 4:20 a.m. after receiving a call from a woman who said she was robbed by passengers, police confirmed.

The driver told investigators she picked up the men on DeGroat Street and was asked to stop in front of a house about a half-mile away. When she pulled over, both men allegedly pulled out guns and demanded her cash, cellphone and keys, authorities said.

Despite stealing the keys to her cab, both men exited the taxi and ran away, Columbus-based news station WTVM reported.

Descriptions of the suspects have not been released.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to contact LaGrange police at 706-883-2603.
