A 21-year-old man was killed in a shooting Friday in northwest Atlanta that prompted a SWAT team to be called to the location, police said.

Officers responded to a person-shot call in the 2500 block of Etheridge Drive NW, and found that the victim, identified as Domica Garrett of Atlanta, had died from multiple gunshots, police spokeswoman Kim Jones said.

Police then learned that the scene wasn’t safe, and a potential threat that existed caused a SWAT unit to be called to the location, Jones said. After the scene was determined to be safe, homicide officers began their investigation.
