A 23-year-old man was killed Saturday morning when several cars collided in the southbound lanes of I-75 in Clayton County, authorities said.

The wreck, which occurred near the I-285 interchange shortly after 4 a.m., shut down the interstate for hours as police investigated.

It’s still unclear what caused the wreck or how many cars were involved. Clayton County police have not released the name of the man killed, but did say others were taken to hospitals with “severe injuries.”

No charges have been filed.

All lanes reopened about 9 a.m., the WSB 24-hour Traffic Center reported.

Deputies say that around 3:20 a.m. Friday, they received a call from a woman who said her ex-husband was on her property. She said she has a restraining order against him.
