One person was killed, another injured after an attempted home invasion in DeKalb County that happened shortly after 5 p.m. Wednesday, police said.

Channel 2 Action News reported two men tried to break into a home in the 2800 block of Eastwood Drive, where two people were inside the home.

One of the residents shot and killed one suspect and wounded the other, DeKalb police confirmed.

An unidentified woman drove the wounded suspect to a Zaxby’s on Memorial Drive and yelled out to call 9-1-1, Channel 2 reported.

No other information was immediately available.
