A Union City man was shot multiple times at his condominium early Friday in what police believe was a home invasion.

Witnesses told Union City police they saw five people in masks drive away from the Shannon Villas Condominiums on Flat Shoals Road after hearing gunshots. The group was reportedly traveling in a small gray sedan.

When officers arrived at the complex just before 2 a.m., they found the victim, 42-year-old Tyrone Rodney Green, near the front of his home with multiple gunshot wounds. After medics attempted to revive him at the scene, Green was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

“No arrests have been made in relationship with the incident at this time,” Union City police spokesman Officer Jerald January said in a news release. “This is an ongoing investigation and any additional information will be released as it becomes available.”
