One person was taken into custody and another remains at large after a deadly shooting Saturday at a Norcross extended stay motel.

Jayvon Wilkins, 30, is wanted in connection with the shooting, which happened at the HomeTowne Studios off Jimmy Carter Boulevard, GBI spokeswoman Nelly Miles said Monday in a news release.

Authorities found 30-year-old Darian Glover dead in the motel hallway after gunshots were reported about 11:30 a.m.

The Norcoss Police Department requested the GBI’s help investigating the case.

Wilkins and Glover were staying in separate rooms at the motel, Miles said.

GBI investigators determined the men were involved in a verbal dispute before the gunfire erupted, Miles said. Witnesses told investigators they heard multiple gunshots during the argument and saw Wilkins running away, Miles said.

A woman was being interviewed Saturday, Norcross police spokesman Sgt. Eric Butynski said.

Wilkins’ current whereabouts are not known. He is wanted on charges of malice murder and aggravated assault. The investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the GBI at 770-388-5019.
