A woman is facing a murder charge after a man was fatally shot outside a DeKalb County home Wednesday afternoon.

Officers responding to the home in the 3000 block of Weslock Circle near Gresham Park found three people attempting to help the man. He was shot in the stomach and lying in the front yard, according to a police report obtained by AJC.com.

All three pointed to the woman, 37-year-old Aziza El-Shair, as the alleged shooter, police said in the report. El-Shair, who lives a few houses down, was sitting in the driver’s seat of a Dodge Journey parked on the street.

A DeKalb County officer took the woman into custody without incident, and she told the officer where to find her gun inside the SUV, according to the report.

The victim, who has not been identified, was taken to a hospital and later pronounced dead. Police have not released any information on the motive behind the shooting, and it is not known if El-Shair knew the man.

El-Shair is being held in the DeKalb County Jail on a charge of felony murder.
