A man was rushed to a hospital Monday night after walking into a DeKalb County Waffle House with a gunshot wound.

The victim, who was not identified, died shortly after arriving at the hospital, DeKalb police spokesman Sgt. J.D. Spencer told AJC.com.

Investigators still do not know where the man was shot, Spencer said. They were called about 10:45 p.m. to the Waffle House at the corner of Columbia Drive and Memorial Drive in the Belvedere Park neighborhood when he showed up injured. He was in critical condition when he left for the hospital.

There was heavy police activity at the Waffle House overnight, Channel 2 Action News reported.

As of Tuesday morning, Spencer said no suspects are in custody. The investigation is ongoing.
