Hours after he was named the most wanted fugitive in Clayton County, a murder suspect was arrested in Norcross.

Clayton County sheriff’s deputies said Simon Smith Sayers, 28, was captured about 10 p.m. Thursday by police detectives in the 5300 Block of Singleton Road, and an alleged murder weapon was also recovered.

Sayers was wanted in connection with the death of 29-year-old Jamar Hall, who was fatally shot in the central part of the county earlier Thursday.

Hall was found shot twice just after 2:30 a.m. inside a home in the 8000 block of Attleboro Drive, according to the sheriff’s agency. When Clayton County police officers arrived, they also found a woman shot in the leg.

Hall was pronounced dead at the scene. No further details about the shooting were released.

Once he was identified as the alleged shooter and arrest warrants were issued, Sayers was given the top spot on the county’s most wanted list. He was booked into the Clayton County jail early Friday morning on charges of murder and aggravated assault.
