Investigators are still trying to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting at the Cascade Glen Apartment Homes on Campbellton Road.

A man was shot in the chest and killed Tuesday night at a southwest Atlanta apartment complex.

Investigators are still trying to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting at the Cascade Glen Apartment Homes in the 3900 block of Campbellton Road. They believe the victim arrived at the complex with another man, and both fired shots, Atlanta police spokesman Officer Jarius Daugherty told AJC.com.

“At some point, both males produced firearms and exchanged gunfire with each other, which resulted in the victim being shot,” Daugherty said. “The suspect then fled the location.”

When officers got to the scene around 10:45 p.m., they found the victim with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office identified him as 21-year-old Shakur Tigner of Atlanta.

Police have not identified a suspect. The incident is still under investigation.
