A triple shooting in a southeast DeKalb County neighborhood left two people dead late Wednesday night.
One of the victims ran to a neighbor’s home in the Woodmere subdivision off South Deshon Road asking for help, officers told Channel 2 Action News from the scene. Another was found dead inside a car at the end of Woodmere Drive when officers arrived just before midnight.
The third victim died at a local hospital, police spokesman Sgt. J.D. Spencer told AJC.com.
Those who died were identified as Antoine Mason, 30, and Lance Richardson. The surviving victim, identified as Daniel Smith, 27, was in critical condition Thursday morning.
Lacine Eiarrasoue told Channel 2 the shooting happened in front of his house.
“It’s very quiet,” he said of the neighborhood. “I’ve been living here seven years now and we’ve never had a situation like this before.”
Police have not released any other details, but a supervisor at the scene told the news station they believe it was a shootout, and they are not looking for any suspects.
