4 Johns Creek teens arrested, allegedly driving stolen car with loaded gun

Channel 2's Mike Petchenik reports.

A traffic stop in Johns Creek ended with four teenagers being arrested, Channel 2 Action News reported.

The teens were stopped on Jones Bridge Road on Oct. 2 after their license plate pinged for a stolen car, Channel 2 reported. Inside the car, police said they found several guns, including at least one that was loaded. They also found bricks, ski masks and a crowbar, the news station reported.

Police arrested Angel Cruz, Tyler Wynn and two others who have not been identified, according to Channel 2.

The car was stolen sometime in September under violent circumstances from the owner’s home, Johns Creek police spokesman Lt. Todd Hood told Channel 2. Hood said police aren’t certain the teenagers stole the car.

“You've got an 18-year-old, 17-year-old and two 16-year-old juveniles driving around in a stolen vehicle in the middle of the day armed with a .38 pistol, a crowbar, several bricks that can be used to smash in glass or a back door, and then two ski masks,” Hood said.

Police are trying to determine if the teens are connected to unsolved burglaries, Channel 2 reported.

The 16-year-olds were taken to juvenile detention, while Cruz and Wynn were taken to the Fulton County Jail.

Cruz and Wynn are both facing a felony charge of possession of a tool for the commission of a crime. Cruz is facing an additional felony charge of theft by receiving stolen property, a Fulton County Jail spokeswoman said.

Cruz will appear in court Nov. 5 and Wynn will appear the next day.
