A naked man, who witnesses say appeared disoriented, was shot and tasered by officers Wednesday.

An officer was originally sent to a location on the 1100 block of Preston Landing Circle in Lithia Springs on a suspicious person call, Douglasville police said.

When the officer arrived, the man lunged at the officer in the direction of his Taser, Georgia Bureau of Investigation spokeswoman Nelly Miles said.

That's when the officer pulled his gun and fired a shot into the man's arm, she said.  A deputy with the Douglas County Sheriff's Office arrived to the scene and gave the wounded man verbal commands.

When he didn't listen, the deputy tasered him.

The man was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital and is in stable condition.

The officers were not injured in the incident, Miles said.

The GBI will continue to investigate the case.
