Hiram police: Man shot dead, brother taken into custody

Hiram police named a 51-year-old man a suspect Monday night in the shooting death of his brother earlier in the evening.

Police responded to a call of a person shot in the 400 block of Watts Road around 7:30 p.m. Upon arrival, officers found Joseph Norman Duguay, 46, dead from an apparent gunshot wound to the chest.

Authorities apprehended his brother Ronald Duguay Jr. as he attempted to flee the scene, police said in a news release.

City law enforcement officials were attempting to get search warrants in order to process the crime scene late Monday. They were also working with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office on the case.

Additional information will be released once the scene is processed, police said.
