A car crashed on I-285 southbound near South Cobb Drive on Wednesday after a high-speed chase by the Georgia State Patrol, authorities said.

Shortly after 1 p.m., a trooper tried to pull over a 2010 Nissan Altima for speeding on northbound I-75 at Mount Paran Road, the GSP said. The driver did not stop, and the chase resulted.

The driver went onto westbound I-285, the GSP said. The Nissan eventually struck a tractor-trailer near the South Cobb Drive exit, ending the chase. The car struck the median wall, crossed back across all lanes and struck the guardrail on the right shoulder, the GSP said.

The GSP said the driver ran from the scene and has not been found.

The three other people in the car were taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital with minor injuries.
