Mitchell George Tostenson, 50, is charged with aggravated assault after Hall County deputies said he intentionally hit a pedestrian with his car.

A man is facing charges after authorities said he intentionally hit a pedestrian with his car.

Hall County deputies arrested Mitchell George Tostenson, 50, of Flowery Branch, and charged him with aggravated assault. The incident happened after a fight between Tostenson and the pedestrian, sheriff’s office spokesman Lt. Scott Ware said.

Tostenson was driving a 1991 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme when he got into an argument with another man at the intersection of Montgomery Drive and Gould Road near McEver Elementary School on March 7.

The verbal altercation led to Tostenson hitting the other man with a car, Ware said.

“The victim received serious but not life-threatening injuries which required medical treatment,” Ware said.

After the alleged assault, Ware said Tostenson drove off.

At the time of the assault, there were several outstanding warrants for Tostenson’s arrest, including a State Court probation warrant issued in August 2018.

The sheriff’s office obtained a warrant for Tostenson’s arrest on the aggravated assault charge, and the Georgia State Patrol had a warrant for traffic-related offenses, including leaving the scene of an accident.

An arrest warrant for a charge of party to the crime of aggravated assault was also issued for a passenger who was in the car with Tostenson.

Tostenson was arrested Sunday and booked into the Hall County Jail.
