Gwinnett County police sought the public’s help Friday in identifying a suspect in an armed robbery and sexual battery at a loan agency on Jimmy Carter Boulevard earlier this week.

The suspect stole about $2,000 from Title Easy on Wednesday afternoon . He appears to be 5’8” to 5’10” tall, of average build and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, blue medical scrub pants, a surgical mask, and one latex glove, according to a statement issued by Cpl. Deon Washington. The suspect was carrying a medium to large frame semi-automatic handgun.

After entering the business, the man tampered with the surveillance camera, then forced the clerk to give him money that was in a file cabinet, according to the report. He then took the clerk to the back of the store, tied her hands with computer cables and led her to a storage closet, where he took off some of her clothes and said he was going to rape her, the report stated.

The suspect left the closet saying he would return, but after several minutes the woman didn’t hear him and fled. The suspect was last seen headed toward Rockbridge School Road.

Anyone with information that might help identify the suspect is asked to call detectives at 770-513-5300. Or, to remain anonymous, tipsters can contact Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8477 or visit www.crimestoppersatlanta.org.
