Gwinnett police are investigating how a person ended up with a gunshot wound at a gas station near Norcross.

Ambulances and police cars converged on a Marathon gas station near Beaver Ruin Road at Indian Trail Road on Tuesday night to assist the person who was shot, Cpl. Deon Washington said. The person was transported to a hospital and is expected to survive, he said.

It was not immediately clear whether the person was shot at the gas station or elsewhere, Washington said.

The person’s name, age and gender were not immediately released.
